Cline Buttes, OR

A dog trailing its owner who was horsebackriding was caught in leg-hold trap. The pair managed to release the dog. The trap was set near a widely publicized and popular trail. When the owner of the trap was contacted, they found that the man was about to leave town keeping the traps intact.

A dead female lynx was found with it’s foot caught in a trap. The lynx had been shot. The shooter was identified and summoned for a violation. This incident remains an open investigation at this time.

A trapper was fined for killing a badger that was unintentionally caught in a trap he set out for woodchucks. The man killed the badger and placed it in his freezer on a neighboring propery. The badger is a protected mammal.
