Summary:

Two men were charged with animal cruelty after 15 monkeys they were shipping from South America to Thailand were found dead at the Los Angeles International Airport. The men placed 14 Marmoseets, 5 white-fronted Capuchins and 6 Squirrel Monkeys in three wooden boxes in Miami bound for Los Angeles, who were then supposed to transfer to a flight going to China. However, due to irregularity with the shipping documents were denied access to the plane. LAX officials found 14 of the 25 primates were dead, and a Capuchin was rushed to a veterinarian, who had to euthanize the animal. The surviving animals were taken to San Diego Wild Animal Park.
