A former veterinarian’s pet capuchin bit a woman at a Southern California pizzeria. The 38-year old woman who was bitten was treated at the hospital and the Capuchin was taken into quarantine for 6 months. The former veterinarian was also in possession of two other primates, another Capuchin and a tamarin, who were also impounded due to the lack of permits. It is illegal to own primates as pets in California.

A man was found living in a storefront with more than 600 animals, including a foot-long alligator, 2 hedgehogs, 2 pythons, a parrot and 5 corn snakes. All the animals were seized and taken to a shelter.

A large snake believed to be a green anaconda is being spotted by lake goers in and around Lake Hopatcong. The snake is believed to be around 15 feet long and thought to be a former pet.
