December 2, 2014 Atlanta, GA A Siberian lynx attacked a woman who was taking care of the animals while the owner was away. The woman sustained injuries to her head and was bleeding heavily when police arrived. Animals from this home have broken out before this incident. The owner of the cat has 9 cats, including 4 Syberian lynxes and 4 other cats of comparable size and is permitted to breed them per the DNR. Small Cats

October 27, 2014 Elkins, AR A female tiger kept in unsanitary and inadequate conditions in a private home was rescued by Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. The 400-pound tiger was the last of a group of tigers living at a home near Elkins. The tigers had been bred there but over time had either died or been relocated. Big Cats
October 22, 2014 Stafford Township, NJ A pet bobcat named Rocky that had repeatedly escaped his enclosure has been recaptured after his latest escape from his guardian’s home on Oct. 21. The bobcat was taken to a zoo and the guardian fined. Small Cats

October 10, 2014 Little Rock, AR A 3-year-old child fell into the jaguar exhibit. Two cats attacked him, and zoo staff tried to use fire extinguishers to keep the cats away.
