June 16, 2016 Cave Junction, OR A white Bengal tiger named Scooby bit the arm of animal keeper Sara Romswinckel hard enough to break it. The keeper hadn’t noticed that the tiger’s den was unlocked. When the tiger then rubbed his face against the gate, it opened, prompting Romswinckel to push the gate in an effort to close it, exposing her arm. Both county and U.S. Department of Agriculture officials have since inspected the facility. The county inspector reported that the tiger, if he escaped the den, could have hopped a 6-foot wooden fence. Big Cats

June 13, 2016 Baton Rouge, LA Two black and white lemurs, a male and female, passed through a gate left open that morning by a zoo keeper. They remained inside the zoo grounds, and were captured and returned to their exhibit an hour later. Primates
June 12, 2016 Comer, GA A manhunt began after a policeman stopped a vehicle containing two men, a woman, a dog, and a 6-foot-long python. Thomas Neal Evans fled the vehicle. The python was turned over to the driver of the vehicle, who was released. Reptiles
June 12, 2016 Grantfork, IL A 9 1/2 foot boa constrictor escaped from a private yard. An officer found the snake several hours later wrapped up inside the engineer compartment of the owner’s truck.
