Florida Fish and Wildlife received a complaint about a 13-foot alligator named Gwendolyn that David Van Buren kept in a pool behind his house for more than 50 years, feeding her pizza and cookies. Officials are investigating after determining that Van Buren does not have appropriate caging.

Two dogs broke into the Baton Rouge Zoo during the night and killed 3 greater spot-nosed guenons. The monkeys had reached out of their cage toward the dogs, and were “basically chewed up” according to a zoo director. Two of the monkeys were dead when they were discovered by keepers in the morning, and one needed to be euthanized.
