Cops responding to a burglary report found a 2- to 3-foot alligator in a bathtub. They brought the gator to the Animal Care and Control center. It is illegal to keep an alligator as a pet in New York.

A male, 50-year-old Asian elephant named Ranchipur was euthanized after years of medical problems.

The Scottsdale Fire Department captured a 9-foot pet albino python after it was found in a gutter in a residential area. The snake was turned over to the Phoenix Herpetological Society. A man was charged with felony stalking after leaving a package containing a live ball python at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment complex.

A sheriff’s deputy responded to a call about a snake and found a 6-foot-long boa constrictor by the side of a highway. Deputies believe the snake was an abandoned pet. He was brought to a reptile rescue until a new home could be found.
