A man found a serval in his barn hovering over a domestic cat it had just killed. The serval belonged to a neighbor and had escaped 9 days prior. The serval remains with animal control officers while the possessor atempts to regain custody.

A Harrison County man in his 60’s was killed by his pet deer. The 550lb deer pinned the man against a fence and gored/trampled him. The deer was shot and killed.

A pet Capuchin monkey that escaped from its owner bit a central New York woman and had to be euthanized to test for rabies. Although the possessor had a rabies certificate and an exotic pet license, under state law, the animal had to be tested for rabies – it tested negative.

A baby dolphin died after falling from an exhibit at the Gulf World Marine Park. Staff members commented that dolphins have fallen from the exhibit in the past.

A 7-year old Siberian tiger grabbed and pulled the arm of a 38-year old volunteer into his cage at the Big Cat Rescue and Educational Center in Rock Springs. The volunteer was pulled away by other volunteers and treated for his injuries.

A Parks Dept. employee found a 6-foot python in the Harlem park while picking up trash. The python was thought to be someone’s pet that was abandoned due to its size or aggression. It will likely be taken to a sanctuary.
