The Cowlitz County Humane Society seized a 7-foot albino red-tailed boa constrictor and a 6-foot red-tailed boa. One of the snakes escaped and struck at the officer.

A photographer visiting New York’s Bronx Zoo said he found an escaped kudi in a pedestrian area. Officials arrived led the kudu back to its enclosure. It is unknown how the kudu escaped.

A man was arrested for biting and severely injuring a python. The python, a female, underwent surgery for wounds that were deep enough to expose the creature’s liver. Afterwards, the snake was turned over to the city’s Animal Care Services, where it was reported to be recovering, though it lost several ribs. The man said he had no memory of the incident.

Seven reptiles (4 pythons and 3 lizards), including snakes up to 16 ft long, have been rescued from a home in northern Arizona. The reptiles were underweight and some were ill. They were taken from a hoarder who released the 7 reptiles, but refused to give up custody of a dozen others.

An 8-year old sea lion at the St. Louis Zoo was found dead after performing at a public show. Sea lions typically live for 20 years. The cause of death was unknown.
