The Missouri Dept of Conservation islooking for the owner of a nearly 8-foot red tail boa constrictor found in Northwest Missouri. It is believed the snake was a former pet.

Sarah, a 22-year old African lion who had been struggling with cancer, died. She was euthanized after she became lethargic and refused to eat.

A man dropped off a 1 and 1/2 foot long alligator at a local animal shelter because he could no longer keep it. It is illegal in NM to have an exotic animal without a permit.

Waco, TX

Waco Animal Control officers secured a 7-foot snake after it was spotted in the MCC campus. The snake was determined to be a redtailed boa constrictor and was taken to the Waco Zoo where it is planned to be on public display.

Essex, NJ

A 7-foot boa constrictor was found trapped behind the dashboard of a car. The snake had escaped from the pillow case in which she was being transported by a children’s entertainer.

Roswell, NM

A 5-foot long Iguana bolted out the door and cannot be found. Its guardian is asking the public not to get near the lizard as he’s already bitten her. The public is being asked to call animal control if they see the lizard.

Elkhart County, IN

A 12-foot snake was found in Elkhart County. A group of teenagers were spotted playing outside with the 60 pound, African Rock Python. The snake’s original owner died and his wife decided to give the snake away to the neighbor kids. The snake has been adopted by the /chicago Herpetology Society and will eventually be taken to a zoo.

St. Cloud, FL

A 4-foot, 25 pound male macaque was caught after several people reported spotting it near East Lake Toho in the St. Cloud area. Animal control shot the monkey out from a tree canopy with a tranquilizer dart from a sheriff’s helicopter and the monkey fell 60-100 feet sustaining injuries. The monkey later died while in animal control custody. It is unknown where the monkey came from or how he got loose.

Buena Park, CA

A man called police to report a large snake lying underneath a Ford Focus in the Sears parking lot in Buena Park. Animal control officers removed the python and are currently looking for the owner.

A man found a 6 and 1/2 foot ball python coiled around his car’s carburetor and called police. The snake had escaped from a neighbor’s house.
