August 30, 2012 Lehighton, PA A 3-feet long pet ball python bit a four-year old child on the chest while she was playing with the snake. The family decapitated the snake to get it off of the child. One snake tooth was stuck on the skin. Beside the python involved in this incident, the family own three other pythons and two corn snakes. Reptiles

August 26, 2012 Albertville, AL An 11-foot Burmese python named Rogue went missing from a residence or two weeks before it was found. There had been rumors that the snake was killed and dimembered. The owners were fined and had to pay for a permit to keep the snake. Reptiles
August 25, 2012 Fort Lauderdale, FL A Fort Lauderdale battalion chief handling a motorcyle accident was bit by a pet marmoset reached over to turn off the motorcyle. The marmoset had beenriding in a bag attached to the motorcycle. The owner was issued a warning for failing to label the monkey bag with what was in it and the monkey received 10 days in quarantine. August 24, 2012 Cherokee County, GA A 6-foot long red tail boa constrictor was found wrapped around a work van’s bumper. No one has come forward to claim the snake and is thought to have been dumped by it’s owner. Animal control officers and a deputy came out to collect the animal without incident. Reptiles
August 24, 2012 Uptown, LA A python appeared on a neighborhood yard and has taken up residence. The homeowner called several agencies, but was told the snake would not be picked up unless it was a venomous. They have put out a Craig’s List ad in hopes a snake enthusiast will respond. August 24, 2012 Albertville, GA A missing 11-foot Burmese python that came up missing and believed to be stolen has been found dead. The snake was found in a dumpster behind a business. Reptiles
August 24, 2012 Woodstock, GA A six-foot snake was found embedded in a work van’s bumper. County Animal Control officials responded to the scene and called a sheriff’s deputy who is an avid snake lover. The snake is believed to be a former pet and was taken to the Southeast Reptile Rescue Center in Griffin. Reptiles
