Born Free USA’s Canadian office focuses on species and issues that take place in Canada and that are often unique to the country, but that also has an international reach.

Our Canadian representative, Barry Kent MacKay, is a well-known Canadian compassionate conservationist who has a wealth of knowledge about animal protection issues and wildlife. He is a founding director of the Species Survival Network and serves on its board, as well as on its editorial committee; is a member of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) human/wildlife conflict panel; sits on a committee hosted by the Toronto Region Conservation Authority which manages bird colonies in the Great Lakes; and utilizes his decades of experience to act as an expert for numerous other conservationists and animal advocacy organizations.
