Tune in to Nat Geo WILD tonight (Thursday, September 7) at 9PM ET/ 8PM CT, when the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary is featured on Animal ER! Titled “Unusual Suspects,” the episode focuses on Chongo, a rhesus macaque formerly kept as a pet, who is suffering from megaesophagus (an enlarged esophagus). The episode provides a unique, insiders’ look at the procedures and precautions required to safely care for this eight-year-old monkey, who arrived at our sanctuary in May 2012, and features our own staff veterinarian, Dr. Kathleen Johnson, and other members of our team.
