Crushing Ivory in Sri Lanka

On Tuesday, Born Free USA and Born Free Foundation applauded the Sri Lankan government for destroying an ivory stockpile. The ivory was seized by Sri Lanka Customs in Colombo in May 2012 from a ship en route from Mombasa Port in Kenya to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Adam M. Roberts, CEO of Born Free USA and Born Free Foundation, commends Sri Lanka for joining “the growing number of countries taking bold action” to stop wildlife trafficking.
