Fall arrives at the Sanctuary

in Blog on October 22, 2008

Fall has arrived at the Sanctuary bringing a welcome drop in temperatures. The mornings are now cooler and the monkeys start their day by sitting as high as they can in the trees to catch those early morning rays from the sun. I saw my first armadillo of the fall this week, shuffling along the perimeter fence of the monkey enclosures, seemingly unperturbed by my presence.

Loekey and Frankie are getting along well. I have not yet seen Logan and Loekey together. Logan is definitely curious about Loekey, but remains cautious. This is unlike young Frankie who has taken a dominant position with both Logan and Loekey.

India and Gilbert continue to spend most of their time together. It is so nice to watch them grooming each other and sharing food together. At the weekend I saw Gilbert being groomed by both India and Florence at the same time. He was clearly enjoying the attention!

Until next week,

Sarah
