Summary:

A 21-month-old male impala was found dead in a transport crate at the Toledo Zoo. He was given anesthesia a day earlier prior to loading him into the crate — in preparation for transfer to another zoo — and he was slow to recover. A necropsy indicated that the impala died from complications from an old neck injury that had worsened.
