In 2015, Born Free USA and Animal Advocates of Western New York joined forces on a billboard campaign to educate the public about animal welfare, wildlife conservation, and animal traps. The new billboard, “RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU ARE AGAINST TRAPPING,” went up in early May on Route 20 at Big Tree Road in Hamburg, New York. We believe that the first step in reducing human/wildlife conflict is prevention and education. This billboard is meant to shine a spotlight on the suffering of trapped animals and to help teach the public that trapping is unnecessary – and that there are many effective ways to co-exist with wildlife.
