Working Together to Advance Conservation Globally

Born Free USA, working in collaboration with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, organized a workshop gathering government representatives from Benin, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania, Senegal, Togo, Gabon, and Cape Verde representing customs, the environment, and fisheries ministries. The workshop, co-hosted by the governments of Senegal and Togo, strengthened the capacity of these countries to fight against wildlife crime and to implement the shark and ray listings in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Fauna and Flora (CITES) Appendix II. Recommendations from the workshop are available to download here.
