It’s Happening: Swaziland Elephants Coming to U.S. Zoos

With a hearing on the proposed elephant import looming in federal court, three American zoos (in Kansas, Texas, and Nebraska) moved on Tuesday to anesthetize and load 18 elephants from Swaziland to the United States. Animal advocacy groups, including Born Free USA, have spoken out against the transfer.
