S. 3146/A. 4773: Prohibits transport of certain animals at port facilities

in New Jersey on August 27, 2015

Bill Description:
This bill would ban the transport of remains of animals threatened with extinction through Port Authority facilities.[teaserbreak]

Background:
This bill is intended to curb trophy hunting. It was introduced after the tragic death of Cecil the lion, who was allegedly lured outside of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe and killed by an American hunter in July. His death was particularly gruesome because he was shot, beheaded, and skinned.
