Antiques Dealer Sentenced for Smuggling Wildlife Artifacts

A New York antiques dealer, who has smuggled rhinoceros horn and elephant ivory artifacts from the U.S. to China, has been sentenced to more than three years in prison and three years’ supervised release. “Smuggling wildlife artifacts made from rhino horn and elephant ivory undermines the international conservation protections put in place to save these species from extinction,” said Robert G. Dreher, Acting Assistant Attorney General from the Department of Justice.
