According to Adam Roberts, executive vice president of Born Free USA, “Born Free USA is grateful to Classic Hardware for its interest in supporting us and its generosity to commit to donating a portion of sales to helping keep wildlife in the wild. The Endangered Creatures Collection features images of wild animals in artistic, creative ways. Those animals reflect much of our work — the African elephant for our ivory, zoo and circus work; bears and tigers for our work to stop the trade in wildlife parts; lynx for our trapping work. It is a natural partnership.”

Classic Hardware is best known for its “Retrolite and image-based jewelry,” as well as its eye-catching vanity cases. Her art driven with retro inspiration, owner Karyn Cantor collaborates with modern artists to create her one-of-a-kind items. The designs have been worn by top celebrities (including Emily Blunt, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Chris Isaak) and featured in popular TV shows (including “Glee,” “Sex and the City,” “Project Runway” and “American Idol”), and in the media (including Vanity fair, In Style, Seventeen and “The Today Show”).

According to Cantor, “This is our first official alliance with a non-profit and we are very excited about it. I knew I wanted to give a percentage of Classic Hardware profits to an organization that helps wildlife. I decided Born Free USA was the best match for our company on many levels. It has a great mission and understands the modern art style, and I think its donors will, too. We strongly believe in Born Free USA’s mission to keep wildlife in the wild!”

Cantor began Classic Hardware in 1995 with a line of pocket watches that soon evolved into unique jewelry and accessories for men and women. Cantor’s work mixes vintage vogue with modern trends to create designs that balance her artistic vision with quality and rugged construction for the greatest value. All items are handmade by artisans in the United States.

Born Free USA is a nationally recognized leader in animal welfare and wildlife conservation. Through litigation, legislation and public education, Born Free USA leads vital campaigns against animals in entertainment, exotic “pets,” trapping and fur, and the destructive international wildlife trade. Born Free USA brings to the United States the message of “compassionate conservation” — the vision of the United Kingdom-based Born Free Foundation, established in 1984 by Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna, stars of the iconic film “Born Free,” along with their son Will Travers, now chief executive officer of both organizations. Born Free’s mission is to end suffering of wild animals in captivity, conserve threatened and endangered species, and encourage compassionate conservation globally.
