Bravo Bosnia!

I just got word from our friends in Croatia, that Bosnia and Herzegovina has banned fur farming!

They now join Croatia in being yet another country that is ahead of the United States on this issue.

Apparently, Bosnia and Herzegovina declared a new Animal Protection Law that is an almost exact copy of Croatian law and, by doing so, banned fur farming with a transition period of ten years.

Our colleagues at Animal Friends Croatia tell us that the passage of this new law in Bosnia has stopped a Croatian producer of chinchilla fur from moving into Bosnia to avoid the Croation ban.

Ha! Take that, abusers of small cute fuzzy animals!

They also sent along a picture from a performance in support of the fur farming ban that was held in in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina in January. Guess it worked!

Let’s hope other countries, including the United States, finally see fur farming for what it is — cruelty to animals — plain and simple.

Blogging off,

Monica
