S. 2352 American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act

Purpose: This bill would prohibit the slaughter of horses in the U.S. for human consumption and the trade and export of live horses intended for human consumption.

Status: Referred to Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry.

Action: SUPPORT. Horses have been faithful companions that have shaped American history and must be protected from slaughter. Horses sent to slaughter are treated with extreme cruelty and, since they are not food animals, can be full of chemicals that are dangerous for humans to consume.
